Bacterial plaque plaque is the main enemy of both our teeth and gums. It is a sticky bacterial film that turns into the dental tartar. When it attacks gums, this may lead to the teeth loss. In order to avoid this, it is important to see a dentist for plaque removal every six months. In our practice the procedure of removing deposit and tartar is performed in three ways.
As the first Dental Clinic in Łódź we are pleased to present You the newest method of removing calculus from Your teeth.
This is the safest technique of removing calculus from teeth because it does not hurt healthy teeth’s tissues. LASER scaling and measurement enable detection and precise removal calculus and decay from the roots surface. LASER removes even subgingival dental calculus! In this way we can protect these tissues of the tooth, where the access without the LASER would not be possible. Unremoved calculus does create a site for further attachment of plaque bacteria and it causes irreversible the tooth’s tissue destruction and that might result in falling out the tooth. Dentists in Our Clinic have the instrument which guarantees safe, precise and effective dental procedure without the risk of damaging healthy tooth tissue. In our Practice in order to remove calculus we use also special sand flow and ultrasounds.
Removing calculus by means of LASER lasts shorter because using sand flow and ultrasounds it takes to 1,5 hour.
It is not necessary to anaesthetize a patient, but in cases of an extensive plaque and exposed teeth necks, aesthetic can be applied for a patient's full comfort. Every tooth should undergo a thorough cleaning from every side. Chewing and interdental spaces are cleaned by means of LASER or by sand flow. Contact areas can be polished with a polishing strips. Finally, in order to leave the teeth surfaces smooth we polish them with special brushes, rubber cups and polishing pastes. Smooth, thoroughly cleaned in this way teeth are less susceptible to plaque and tartar. We may lower the risk of bacteria build-up by keeping a good oral hygiene and by using the effective brushing techniques. After the cleaning procedure , teeth's surfaces are protected with a fluoride product.
How does periodontitis develop if deposit and tartar are not professionally removed in a dentist office?
Groove sealing is a method used mainly with young people whose molar and premolar grooves has not been attacked by bacteria yet. A sealant protects grooves against the harmful effects of the external elements - for example sugar. Teeth should be sealed immediately after the whole occlusal surface emerges. Before the treatment we carefully clean the area with the use of an sand flow. Cleaned and dried surfaces are then examined by means of a Diagnodent (a diagnostic laser that detects early caries, which are sometimes invisible to the ‘naked eye’).
After such comprehensive preparation the sealing procedure can take place:
Every half a year we control the status of the sealants.
